You're in Jahan...
What, you mean you don't know where Jahan is? Sorry to break it to you kid, but Jahan is everywhere and everything. It's our word for the known universe. Or, well, our solar system at least. If you believe those old wives tales, the universe extends much farther than we can comprehend. Speaking of wives tales, why don't I let you in on the history of Jahan? You "just wanted directions"? Pssh, the only direction here is "lost." Now sit your ass down; this might take awhile.
Long, long ago—now I mean centuries, maybe even millennium—it was a long time ago, you get the gist. Anyway, there was a galaxy called the Milky Way. What, you "don't believe they named a whole galaxy after a dairy product"? Come on kid, get your act together. You've got no memories; anything could be true. "Who says I'm not a liar?" I say so. Now shut it, and let me finish.
A long, long time ago there was a galaxy called the Milky Way. In this galaxy there were eight planets, but only three of them are important enough to name. The first of these three was Terra, or Earth. Earth was a beautiful place, the origin of life itself. It's where the human race evolved. But us humans, y'know, we destroyed it. Used up all its resources, filled it with garbage, ruined its atmosphere and climate... so we moved on. We colonized the two other planets, Mars and Jupiter. On Mars we built cities for the lucky few: those who could pay their way, or were otherwise considered valuable—either for their brain power, genetics, or abilities. Jupiter though, Jupiter was a city in the sky, built only for executive powers. Kings, queens, noble men and women from all countries brought together on one gigantic, luxurious city in the sky.
Of course, we ruined both those planets too. We're not as smart as we like to think. So what did we do? We moved out, again. This time to a completely different galaxy. A new solar system in that galaxy, a new everything. A fresh start, they said. A new beginning. Well, that plan lasted a few hundred years, sure, but with all the planets in this new home under one government... it was just too vast. They split apart, for the most part. The three main governing planets, the hubs of society? They stuck together. Left the others to die though, like abandoned pets. Only came back for them when they needed something. And even then it was pure exploitation: slaves, power plants, resources—you name it, we've got a planet for it. Or so they say.
You see, this is all just some story, passed down from generation to generation. It's said we lost touch with the other planets centuries ago. Who knows if they're really out there? Some say we just don't want to feel so alone. Who knows. Anyhow, there's a bar half a mile west of here, in a small town called Khosh Amadid. You'll find a place to rest there, and some food if you have the coin.
